Ref No 926 Vacancy: Mechanical Design Engineer (2 vacs)
Location: Swindon
Key Role & Responsibilities
Mechanical design of manufacturing equipment; including concept, simulation, process planning, risk assessment, specification, quotation, assembly & detail drawings
Supervision of contract design engineers
Project planning & management
Essential skills
Minimum of 2 years design experience in related industry
Design of automated manufacturing/special purpose equipment
Draughting of components for manufacture
An awareness of how to design fabricated & machined components for manufacture
Proficient in 3D solid modeling
Strong communication skills at all levels
Demonstrable experience of problem solving & implementation of countermeasures
Flexible approach to work with a willingness to work weekends if required
Desirable
Design of welding jigs & fixtures.
An awareness of how to design fabricated & machined components for manufacture
Design and simulation of Robotic equipment
Specification & design of pneumatic circuits
BIW process knowledge and experience
Quality maturation of manufacturing equipment
Report writing and presentation skills
CATIA V5 experience
Experience of Delmia
