Clearance Classification - SECRET
Candidates must be ex RN with minehunter experience.
Candidates must be able to pass security clearance (SC level).
SUMMARY STATEMENT
Provide a post design service for the RSNF in areas of ship design, modification and engineering changes. Conduct in depth analysis of defects/deficiencies.
The incumbent is responsible for training the RSNF assigned personnel in all aspects of this post.
EDUCATION
BSc degree or equivalent professional engineering qualification, or a combination of training and experience (eg in the Royal Navy) which provides an equivalent educational standard.
EXPERIENCE
Strong experience in a warship related weapons/electronics field with progressive professional responsibility, plus some experience will have been in a project, design or maintenance planning organisation.
Mine Hunter experience.
PHYSICAL OR OTHER SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
Hold a full driving licence.
Satisfactory completion of a thorough physical and dental examination prior to taking up post.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Accountable to the Division Supervisor for the day to day management of all Hunter related Weapon/Electronic post design services with a direct liaison to the Principal Engineer ILSCS for support assessment.
2. Conduct in depth analysis of all Hunter systems or equipment failures or deficiencies to determine cause and make recommendations for corrective action, modifications to maintenance routines or changes in operating mode. Findings to be reported in writing clearly identifying liability for warranty claims.
3. Establish and maintain a close liaison using established RSNF procedures to ensure that a flow of design engineering information.
4. Fully assess all proposed design changes or recommendations for modification to the Minehunter and make recommendations for implementation or not.
5. Maintain a close liaison between the MMS and configuration Control Engineers in the RDC and with other professional engineers in the SRF and FSU on all Hunter related engineering matters.
6. To comply with all RSNF directives safety procedures and Hunter Codes of Practice.
7. Maintain confidentiality of RSNF and Hunter Project data at all times |
