ef No 912 Vacancy: Armed Forces Sales Consultant
Location: Aylesford, Kent
This is a new role within Poppy Travel is responsible for maintaining and growing our battlefield tour business within the Armed Forces training organisations.
You must have some experience in sales or account management within the travel industry. It would be an advantage to have this experience within a military environment.
The role requires an understanding of the Armed Forces culture and organisational structure. This post will work closely with the Operations Manager on scheduling and delivery of current and future contracts.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
To be the day to day Poppy Travel contact for Armed Forces contracts.
To undertake business development activity within the Armed Forces and other major customers
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Achieve client contracts in a price sensitive Value for Money tight framework.
Manage account relationships with the Armed Forces recruit training establishments
Plan and schedule orders for Armed Forces tours
Liaise with the operations manager regarding the scheduling and delivery of Armed Forces tours
Draft and prepare proposals and responses to invitations to tender or requests for information from Armed Forces units and other major customers.
Prepare mailings for Armed Forces units and other major customers
Make sales calls to armed forces units or other major customers.
Arrange meetings with Armed Forces units and other major customers
Any other duties that are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job, the title of the post and its grading as requested by the line manager or Head of Department/Division. You will also have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
