Vacancy Description Hours of work - average 47.5 hours per week Monday to Friday plus every other Saturday morning (there may also be call out) - overtime and call out will be paid

Vacancy Description Our client requires 3 x Electrician to join their team based on their Falkland Island POWER GENERATION Contract

These roles will be for a 27 month contract, within this period candidates will be entitled to 3, five week holiday breaks with flights to and from the UK included,

Whilst on the Islands candidates will have accommodation and food included also they would be tax exempt,

This is a perfect role for candidates who are used to working abroad for long periods of time and are looking to save some money!

Candidates would be paid the equivalent of £25k/year with a completion bonus of £1500 at the end of contract, this would be a tax exempt salary.

JOB PURPOSE

To ensure the safe and efficient electrical operation, maintenance, repair and installation of electrical power generation plant, control systems, auxiliary equipment, switchgear and HV/LV distribution systems including cabling and overhead lines. This may also include the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of hotel services at remote locations.

Key Result Areas

- To ensure that all machinery, equipment and systems in the post holders care functions within the specified operating parameters.

- To overhaul, maintain, repair, test and install all electrical equipment associated with diesel driven generators, auxiliary equipment and switchgear up to and including 11Kv.

- To overhaul, maintain, repair, test and install all electrical equipment associated with the HV/LV distribution system including transformers, switchgear, protection, cabling and overhead lines up to and including 33kV.

- To operate and maintain hotel services at remote locations.

- To maintain and test domestic/industrial electrical installations.

- To produce accurate mandatory and statutory maintenance records, test certificates and where applicable assist in producing reports associated with the above equipment.

- To apply and work within all company safety practices and also the clients own safety practices and procedures in accordance with the clients Permit to Work systems. At all times endeavour to improve the safety record of all the Company sites within the Contract.

- To work towards consideration for authorised person training by becoming ‘site familiar’ where applicable.

Essential Qualifications/Experience

- Must have achieved a minimum qualification of City & Guilds 236 part 2, or NVQ level 3 or equivalent. Served a recognised electrical apprenticeship or undergone an approved equivalent method of training.

- Must have had at least 3 years post apprenticeship experience working as an approved electrician, electrician or equivalent grade if in a non JIB industry.

Desirable Qualifications/Experience

Electrical experience and knowledge gained working in any of the following industries would be an advantage.

a) Operations, maintenance, repair or installation of diesel driven generators and associated control equipment, switchgear and protection of sets ranging in size from 100kW up to 2MW and above operating at voltages of between 415v and 11kV.

b) Maintenance, repair and installation of LV/HV distribution systems up to 33kV and all associated equipment including cable systems and overhead lines working for either an REC or Contractor.

c) Maintenance, repair and installation of machinery and equipment in the following industries, petro chemical, shipping, shipbuilding, heavy industrial plants, power generation or similar.

d) Knowledge of the MoD safe systems of work and Permit to Work system would be desirable but not necessary providing a comprehensive knowledge of other industry safe working practices and safety procedures has been gained.

e) Current full driving licence.
