Description: Project Engineer

Our Client specialises in underground laying of High Power Cables in the UK. This position is site based anywhere in Great Britain.

Projects run on a large scale over 18 months or smaller projects over 6- 9months concurrently commencing in Berkshire

OUR CLIENT IS LOOKING FOR APPLICANTS TO ADVISE THEIR DESIRED SALARY WEEKLY OR HOURLY RATE ALSO IF A PERMANENT OR CONTRACT POSITION IS PREFERRED. APPLICANTS WILL BE INDIVIDUALLY CONSIDERED SUBJECT TO EXPERIENCE.

You will need to be a well-presented, articulate project engineer who is able to liaise directly with clients and present a good company image. Presents good meetings skills also diplomatic, customer-focussed, trustworthy, highly literate and numerate with a Full Driving Licence

SKILLS
To be able to efficiently plan, allocate and direct resources (labour, plant and materials). To manage gangs of directly-employed labour (through a General Foreman), or occasionally sub-contractors
Medium-term (week to week) planning is a key activity

Computer literate proficient in use of Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook (E-mails) Microsoft Project (programming) experience preferred

EXPERIENCE
Conversant with current Health, Safety and Environmental procedures / systems of work
Able to generate detailed Method Statements, Risk Assessments and other site documentation.

Able to prepare Payment Applications and undertake measure & evaluate works undertaken.
Combine costs / valuation information to monitor profit margins

Able to keep accurate financial records of site costs.

Experience in utilities sector beneficial, but not essential alternative experience in drainage, road construction/maintenance
Working knowledge of New Roads & Streetworks, experience in trench excavations (in highways) and backfill / reinstatement

QUALIFICATIONS
Ideally degree-qualified (preferably in Civil Engineering), min. 5 years site experience, with previous experience in this type of management role

Example Qualifications :-- CSCS 5-Day (Manager), Safety Passport, NRSWA Supervisor

PERSONALITY
Self-motivated, focussed, confident, enthusiastic, versatile, organised, resourceful, natural leadership skills
