MA in Christian Spirituality
A Masters level programme of study of the traditions of Christian Spirituality. Historical, contemporary and pastoral elements are included. Four modules, assessed by essays and coursework, plus a dissertation, are required. Teaching is in weekly seminars during the Michaelmas and Lent terms. The programme can be completed entirely with evening teaching, either part-time in two years or three years, or full-time in one year.

This degree is designed to introduce you to the psychological study of religion through a critical and reflective study of major developments and themes that have characterized research in this field from its inception. It approaches religion from the standpoint of psychology and deals with the major questions and figures that have dominated psychological study of religion over the past century. It does this without making any assumptions about particular religious truths and values, and asks what psychology can offer to our understanding of people’s religious beliefs, experience and behaviour.
